And it is further true amongst all those who claim leadership by virtue of divine authority we may apply this test with authority - that the man who stands for humanity, first, last and all the time, against all vested interest, religious and economic, is the man who stands as Jesus stood. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Sounds like a special year is brewing for you guys. Take care. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.31.08 (9:03 am) As I've told you before Kurt, I think you are a wonderful dad. You are very unselfish and seem to have figured out how to balance your children's dreams with good old fashioned parenting and common sense. So happy about the wedding... Congratulations to both of you. posted by: kurtmaddox (reply) post date: 03.31.08 (10:08 am) Reply to: OldSchool Thank you, OldSchool! You've got a great blog going and I visit often. Keep up the great work!! You are true "blogger" and I'm glad you take the time to make your unique contribution. posted by: kurtmaddox (reply) post date: 03.31.08 (10:09 am) Reply to: lorischuster Well, I can accept all of those compliments except the "common sense" one! Ha! Ha! Still, what a nice thing for you to say. Thank you :-) posted by: PastorDave (reply) post date: 03.31.08 (7:21 pm) Congrats with the wedding. Even more so, congrats with the amazing and surely humbling accomplishment of successfully raising two good kids. And having said that- still it seems to me you don't deserve your new bride. Wish I could attend the wedding! posted by: kurtmaddox (reply) post date: 03.31.08 (10:55 pm) Reply to: PastorDave Thanks PD! Your scriptures teach that "Blessed are the pure of heart..." and both my kids have been fortunate to retain the innocence of youth far longer than most. I'm extremely grateful for that and I work hard to help them keep that quality for as long as possible. I think we've discussed before that I believe we parents worry about all the wrong things and then neglect so many of things that truly make a difference with our kids. Of course, kids are individuals with many influences outside the home meaning that it isn't usually parenting that makes the difference either way. Oh, and I'm very clear that I absolutely don't deserve my new bride. Actually, I don't "deserve" so many blessings I get to enjoy in my life. I guess Yahweh really does allow His sun to shine on the just and the unjust ;-) posted by: kurtmaddox (reply) post date: 04.01.08 (8:58 am) Reply to: PastorDave Oops... I meant to say "it isn't ALWAYS parenting that makes the difference either way" instead "it isn't "USUALLY". Parenting, of course, makes all the difference in the world most of the time, even when kids are working through the usual mistakes we all make in life. posted by: auntconi (reply) post date: 04.03.08 (11:14 pm) Enjoy your busy and happy summer ~ all the best to you with everything! If I'm in the area I might just stop by for the wedding! :) posted by: kurtmaddox (reply) post date: 04.03.08 (11:36 pm) Reply to: auntconi I hope you do, AC! |
